Looking for new ski or snowboard pants for winter 2024/2025?

Then you’re in luck. I picked up a pair of the Stio Figment Bib Pants last year, and they are amazing.

Today I’ll share three things with you:

  1. Their specs, including how waterproof they are
  2. How they fit
  3. Why you should buy them

Stio Figment Bib Pant Specs

The Stio Figment pants are waterproof up to 20,000mmm, and breathable up to 10,000mm. If you know waterproofing, this is extremely high. Basically, you won’t get wet even on days where it’s dumping snow.

They also include a 3-layer PeakProof membrane, so even if one fails, the others are there to step in.

How They Fit

I’ll be honest – these are not the type of pants I expected to wear as a late-30s dad. They are baggier than I expected, harkening back to my late teens and 20s where I wore baggier pants as a park rat. Since then, I went less baggy with my pants as my style changed, doing a lot more backcountry touring and just looking for pure function.

I pair them with a Norrona Trollveggen shell and a Mountain Hardwear Men’s Stretchdown DS jacket. It’s a good setup for my days at Colorado resorts.

Why You Should Buy Them

I like the Stio Figment pants for a few reasons.

  1. They’re super functional and weatherproof, and with a good base layer I stay plenty warm.
  2. I actually like the relaxed fit. My Montec bibs always felt a bit too skinny and “skier-y,” but these Stios feel like I’m shredding.
  3. They’re made by skiers for skiers in Jackson Hole, and I like supporting by-skier-for-skier companies.
